Creative Industry Talk

Stayed back in school 2day for the creative industry talk at 1830...My lesson ended at 1530, so i basically waited 3 hrs for the talk to begin...It started off somewhat promising enough with the speaker being this old looking tai-tai who's supposedly some big-shot in mediacorp...She said she would be talking about jobs like dee-jaying, television production, script-writing etc. so i was pretty psyched...However, by 1930, i was convinced that she wouldnt be covering any of those...And i was rite...She spent her allocated time of 1 and a half hrs talking about artistes like Billy Koh and Jamie Yeo and saying the most redundant things like "if you want to join the creative industry you have to be hardworking, flexible, perservering etc" Well, DUH?! Isnt that true of every other industry or job for that matter? She even talked about the difference between the right side of the brain and the left side...I mean how useful is that? I kept hoping that whatever she was saying would eventually lead up to something more but that din happen...She never got down to any job specifications whatsoever, and she basically spent the whole time talking crap...What a rip-off...And what a bloody waste of time...

On another note, i may be doing relief teaching from July to October this year at TPJC...Already sent Hannah my contact details so if all goes well i'll be teaching GP during that period of time...
