Army Buds Outing!!!

So went out last nite with 4 of my Army buds to catch dinner and watch The Golden Compass. It was quite a sad turn out cos some of them have already started work and dun haf the time to meet up on weekdays...Not to mention, some are already attached and so have re-prioritized their commitments...u know who u are hahaha...Admittedly, there were quite a few silences bordering on akwardness especially since we hafnt met up for about half a year...I think it reached the point where when one asks "how are you?" or "what haf u been up to?" there's just too much to say, too much ground to cover that you end up saying "nothing much" or "ok". I realli wanted to kick myself for not having bot tix to the earlier 8:30pm show...Cos we had run out of things to say by 8:20 and had a good 40 minutes to spare...So i suggested gg to Music Junction to kill some time...

That said, i truly missed those guys...We had been through so much together and it was good just feeling their presence and being there with them. I think i was extremely fortunate to have them as army mates cos all of them are very amiable and humble people with no airs or attitude about them...Needless to say, it was easy getting along with them...I believe that when you live or have lived with certain others for some time, there will always be this special bond between you and them that is not the same as with other frenships that you may have...The reason is simple...When you live with others, all the different types of "pattern" one may have, will almost definitely come out and you have to learn to live with each other and accept them for who they are...And it is this kind of acceptance that is difficult to replicate in other frenships since usually, in the relatively shorter amount of time spent with other frens, one tends to "accomodate" and converge towards an identity that they think is consonant with the group identity rather than being themselves.

Anyway, the movie was actualli quite good..I say "actualli" cos the way Yiding put it, it seemed like it was gonna be quite a bore...But it wasnt..It was fun, engaging and fantastical, and i enjoyed it (So much better than Eragon and Narnia)...Next on my list: I am Legend, Alvin and the Chipmunks and National Treasure...
