Ok, so y'day went to church to help out with the logistics...And after shifting tables and chairs for about an hour, we were made to tie balloons together. TIE BALLOONS?!?! Darn! I HATE balloons! You never know when they're gonna pop in your face...So anyway after trying unsuccessfully for about half an hr (in which time i only managed to tie 4), i gave up...Tying balloons just isnt my thing...By the time i got home, it was nearly 6 and i was supposed to be at the ceremony at 6! Wat was worse was that i had a red left eye cos some wood shavings from the tables we were shifting had been blown into it by the wind and i was sure as hell NOT gg to go to the awards thingy in specs...I was pretty pissed off with God at that moment...Everytime i try to do something good, it always seems to work out for the worse (for me) eventually...And i sorta ranted at Him...It was something like, "Wah lau God! Why is it that everytime blah blah blah...You better fix this...*whine whine whine*..." I know, i know, very childish, and there are a million things worse than a red eye...But at that time, it was significant ok...However, amazingly, by the time i reached Bukit Timah Campus at 7, my eye was no longer red and the dinner had not yet begun. In fact, i was early! So God does listen after all! I think He must have been like "Ok, just shut up and go and i'll take care of it" or something.
The dinner was actualli pretty good...I wasnt expecting much to be honest...And we just got certs of merit in the end (There were actualli a lot of 'winners'...Not so great anymore i guess). But the food was quite good and i ate a lot, the old campus was beautiful in a rustic, 'old-charm' kind of way, and we got our photo taken by a professional photographer. That, i thot was ingenious...Cos she had the 5 of us from HOOKED positioned nicely on some sofas and the photos were printed on the spot for us to keep...Good job NUSSU! Also, managed to catch up with shawn, sinnie, zhao xiu and 'this-Malay-gal-whom-i-cant-remember-wat-her-name-is', and that was good too. Actualli, i dun feel much for HOOKED. It's not like one of those societies that you get very involved in nor is it one which requires you to meet up and work with each other constantly. But that doesnt mean that there isnt any nice people in it. I'm very glad to have met karina, shawn, zhao xiu, sinnie, shu zhen etc. And i was surprised by Sinnie cos she always struck me as an introvert and today she's HOOKED's new chief editor!!! I was particularly impressed when we had HOOKED's 1st awards ceremony at my place, and she was the only one who asked if i needed any help cleaning up after everything had ended...I always take note of these little things that people do...Even if it may not eventually translate into actual action...At the very least, it shows consideration and that's impt to me. So anyway, i had a good time and i want to thank shawn for filling up the application forms for this award thingy and also to congratulate him for winning an actual award for himself for his article on 'the leak'.
